Principal Osteopath David Annett established his Harrogate clinic in 2011 after working for over 10 years in a leading sports injury clinic in central London. He has a reputation for treating elite athletes and was the team Osteopath for the British Modern Pentathlon team for 11 years, helping them prepare for 3 Olympic Games. More recently he has been treating elite athletes from Squash, badminton and Iron Man triathlon. David uses his Osteopathy skills to ensure that the athletes are functioning at the top of their ability as well as treating injuries.
David graduated from the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in 1999 and worked for a year in Dumfries where he treated farmers and forestry workers. On returning to London he joined renowned Danish Osteopath Torben Hersborg who treats many of the country’s leading sportsmen and women. For a decade David treated Londoners including West End actors and dancers, elite athletes, trapeze artists, footballers and professional musicians. In this time he was involved with the Manchester Commonwealth games in 2002 and worked with premier athletics club ‘Newham & Essex Beagles.’
David enjoys treating a wide range of clientele of all ages and professions which was highlighted to him one day in London when he treated a vicar and a lap dancer on the same day! David has a degree in Ergonomics from Loughborough University and is Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors. This gives him an added interest in work related and postural injuries, so part of his treatment involves advice about how to reduce the risks of injuries in the workplace.
David returned to his native Harrogate in 2010 after starting a family. Having grown up in Harrogate he played Rugby for the town as well captaining Harrogate Grammar School and representing Yorkshire at school boy and colts level. He now keeps fit with mountain biking, triathlons and mud races and now enjoys working with the active and not so active people of Harrogate.
David is fully insured and a registered member of the General Osteopathic Council as well as the Institute of Osteopathy. He is also a professional member of the BackCare charity.
